कक्षा पांच तक ही पढ़ाई करने वाले ओरीलाल 1939 में ब्रिटिश सेना में सिपाही के तौर पर भर्ती हो गए थे, अंग्रेजों के साथ आए दिन उन्हें अपने हिन्दुस्तानियों को पीटना पड़ता था।
जिसके कारण वो अन्दर से पूरे टूट चुके थे और 1942 में ब्रिटिश सेना की नौकरी छोड़कर वो आजाद हिंद फौज में शामिल हो गए। ओरीलाल कहते हैं कि संघर्ष के बीच जब देश आजाद हुआ तो लगा था कि देश की लड़ाई लड़ने वालों का सम्मान होगा, लेकिन लगता है कि देश आज भी गुलाम है। पहले 100 रुपए पेंशन मिलती थी, अब तीन सालों से चार हजार रुपए मिलने लगी है, इससे पूरे परिवार का गुजारा भी नहीं होता है। ऐसे में उन्हें लोगों के आगे हाथ फैलाना पड़ रहा है।
आखिर ऐसा क्यूं हो रहा है कि स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों ने जिनके लिए लड़ाई की वो तो आज़ादी की हवा में आगे बढ़ते जा रहे हैं, लेकिन उनकी हालत और उनके हालात का किसी को फ़िक्र नही l आखिर उन्हें कितनी ख़ुशी मिलती होगी उस देश में, जिसके लिए वो अपनी जिंदगी लुटा दिए कि देश आज़ाद हो सके, आज़ाद तो हुआ लेकिन उनकी हालत एक गुलाम से भी बद्तर
ओरीलाल और श्रीपत जैसे ना जाने कितने आज़ादी के सिपाही होंगे इस देश में, जो दर-दर भीख मांगकर जिंदगी जी रहे हैं l उन्होंने देश आज़ाद कराया था, तो क्या उसका सिला यही मिलना चाहिए कि उन्हें ज़िदगी की जंग भीख मांग कर गुजारनी पड़े ! वो सिपाही, वो वीर इस लायक भी नही कि वो अपनी जिंदगी सम्मान के साथ गुजर सके l सरकार से साथ-साथ समाज की भी जिम्मेदारी बनती है कि जिनकी वजह से वो आज़ादी में जी रहे हैं, उन्हें सही उनकी जगह मिले

Today, while enjoying freedom , we easily blow many big issues in just a debate. But who ever thought about those freedom fighters who didn’t worry about their lives while fighting for the country. It should be much more than shocking to know many of the freedom fighters have to beg to survive in a nation they fought for.
This 90-year-old man, Sripat, from Jhansi was an active member of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose led Indian National Army ( Azad Hind Fauz). Sripat was inspired from Netaji’s speech and then he decided to join Hind Fauz. He actively participated in freedom fighting movement without worrying about his life. But today, he has to beg for survival.
Sripat’s only son Tulsia was addicted with intoxication and gambling that begandestroying his life. Tulsia spoiled everything in gambling including 7 acres of ancestral land and gradually they became paupers. Sripat tried hard to shape his son but failed. After losing everything, he was forced to work as a labor. But now his body has lost strength and he is forced to beg
